The challenge
EchoDeco chose GIM Agency’s Experts to optimize its website and increase organic traffic alongside the increase in visitors from Google ads. In a highly competitive industry such as home decor, where every keyword has a huge search volume every month, Echo Deco was, when we took it on, on the 3rd, 4th or even 6th-7th page of Google, resulting in very low organic traffic. In addition, the difficulty was compounded by the fact that it had to overcome many significant competitors in order to reach the coveted first page.
Our goal was to bring Echo Deco to the first page and increase visitor volume through Google Ads. With the e-shop’s huge variety and unique, stylish products, increasing traffic was directly linked to the company’s profitability.
We knew that Echo Deco had great potential and that our effective strategy could help it significantly. However, even we couldn’t have predicted the impressive results that followed our actions.

THE SOLUTION
The method
The method used by GIM’s SEO Experts was based on two pillars. First, they paid close attention to the site itself, making all the necessary optimizations to attract users’ interest and offer them a pleasant browsing experience in accordance with Google’s guidelines (on-page optimization). On-page SEO actions included updating meta data to increase the click-through rate of critical pages, checking all technical issues that determine the site’s performance (technical SEO audit), and generally all the steps that would ensure the best user experience on a site with so many categories and subcategories.
In combination with the above actions, off-page optimization was also implemented, with the aim of strengthening the brand and authority of the site. In order to create a clean and efficient link profile, backlinks that damaged the website’s credibility were removed. In addition, a smart content marketing methodology was followed that highlighted Echo Deco’s original home decorating suggestions in order to stand out from the competition. At the same time, the link building strategy was complemented by other actions to acquire reliable backlinks, such as registration in high authority directories of related activities, social bookmarks and comments, and public publishing sites.
The Google Ads strategy aimed to find the most effective keywords that offer the best balance between searches, cost, and competition. Through in-depth analysis and research of the target group, we created specially designed ads to increase traffic and transactions in the e-shop. Through our analysis, we designed a long-term segmentation for our account and, by optimizing it, we managed to outperform our competitors by more than 80%.
THE RESULTS
The result
Continuous research and evaluation of our actions have yielded spectacular results in terms of both traffic and revenue for Echo Deco. Specifically, total traffic increased by 233% in 2020 compared to 2017, which led to a 255% increase in transactions and a 270% increase in revenue. In simple terms, Echo Deco’s revenue almost tripled!
The success of our SEO actions was reflected in a huge 401% increase in organic traffic and a 275% increase in revenue. In addition, Echo Deco now appears in the top 4 positions on the first page of Google for keywords with huge search volumes, such as home decor, wall decor, and Christmas items.
The results of our Google Ads strategy were even more impressive. Traffic from Google ads increased by 222% in 2020, but targeting a well-researched target group resulted in a huge increase in transactions (1,321%) and revenue (1,506%). In other words, while the increase in traffic was consistent with the site as a whole, revenue increased 15-fold because we targeted the right audience.
